Yes chef, bon apétite is an academic editorial project developed for a global gourmet culinary newspaper, built around a visual identity that reflects the harmony between fine dining and storytelling — including a cohesive layout system, typography, photography direction, and illustration, all designed to turn gastronomy journalism into an art piece.
The editorial identity was built around the balance between classic newspaper structure and contemporary gastronomy content, using a serif display typeface, refined columns, and a black, white and red palette to communicate elegance and rhythm, while curated food photography reinforced a sense of timeless sophistication across every section.
The newspaper was developed in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop through a comprehensive editorial system that included the front page, section headers, infographics, typography and grid, supported by photography direction and custom illustrations that reinforced the publication's minimalist and premium gourmet positioning across print pages.
The final outcome is a complete gourmet newspaper system that positions Yes chef, bon apétite as a contemporary, world-class culinary publication — from the front page and internal spreads to the dessert and bakery sections, every element works together to communicate flavor, craft and premium editorial quality across every page.
As the Editorial Designer for this academic project, I led the entire creative process, from grid strategy and masthead design to layout development, typography, infographics, and photography direction, producing a full print spread that came together as a cohesive and premium gourmet reading experience.
